/on Divergent Thinking

The Bouba vs. Kiki effect is real. Human beings are not wired to think divergently. How might we break out of our natural faculties to think divergently? 

• Controversial: Divergent thinking in isolation is dangerous. Divergent thinking followed by and preceded by convergent thinking can yield innovative results.

• Divergent thinking is the art of looking sideways.

• To go broad, first have a clear customer problem statement and a well-thought-out ideal state. This will help folks better operate within a sandbox. 

• Divergent thinking suffers the same follies of writing i.e it’s possible to have a divergent block similar to a writer’s block.
